Squalene (Olive) Fruit Oil is one of the finest molecular compositions in an oil. So fine, that It is immediately absorbed into the deep dermal layers of the skin without any oily residue. It has a similar molecular structure to our skin, which helps penetrate the surface of the skin to target skin concerns at a cellular level. Balancing oil production and providing adequate moisture to the surface of the skin, it’s acts as a powerful anti-inflammatory to treat conditions like acne and eczema. It also stimulates the production of collagen for a firmer, plumper skin surface.
Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil - there’s no other oil that has such synergy with our skin like this one does. This liquid wax is produced from the seed of the Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) plant, and its chemical structure is very similar to the sebum produced by human skin. Due to its antioxidant properties, Jojoba oil acts as a powerful ally in the fight against oxidative stress - an imbalance between the production of free radicals on the skin and the ability of the body to detoxify. It’s also high in B Complex vitamins. The powerhouse of the B vitamins also act as antioxidants, and help fight off free radicals on the skin which are otherwise typically reactive, destroying healthy cells and tissues. The B vitamins help with keeping your skin free from injection and bacteria while it repairs itself.
Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil is highly rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an essential fatty acid used to treat everything from female reproductive tissues, blood channels, respiratory and nervous system concerns, and more recently it has made its way to beauty products. It may help with the relief of symptoms from painful skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema due to the omega-6 fatty acid content. The GLA content acts as a powerful antioxidant to help smooth over wrinkles as it neutralises free radicals.
Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A) has ability to spur collagen and elastin production in the skin. It stimulates cell repair and renewal, and is known to be an effective acne treatment. Retinyl Palmitate is a gentle retinoid composed of palmitic acid and retinol (Vitamin A). Data from an FDA study indicates that when this ingredient is applied to skin in the presence of sunlight, may speed the development of skin tumours and lesions as the retinoic acid enhanced the photocarcinogenic activity of UVB rays. It’s important to note to avoid Vitamin A and Retinol products when exposed to sun, and if using them in the evening, to use SPF during the day.
