Marula oil has been coined ‘the elixir of youth’ for its effective treatment in anti-ageing products, as well as combating really dry skin. The harvest of Marula oil comes from the fruit seed kernels of the Marula trees, indigenous to Southern Africa and Madagascar. The nutrient profile of Marula oil is that it is rich in proteins and essential fatty acids, making it a deeply nourishing moisturiser for even the most damaged skin types. The ability of Marula oil to sink into the skin makes it a key component to reducing trans-epidermal water loss (in other words, a miracle oil in reducing appearance of skin redness and scarring, minimising fine lines, and healing external dryness).

Acure’s The Essentials Marula Oil is 100% natural, cold pressed, unrefined and wildcrafted. The oil is extracted and processed in South Africa as a part of the Marula Project — providing economic empowerment to the communities where the Marula tree grows. The Essentials Marula oil is GMO Free, vegan, gluten free and certified cruelty free.

First impressions

Fragrance
Marula oil has a very, very gentle scent - almost none. If you finally do catch a subtle scent, it’s warm, nutty undertone is all you may experience.

Texture:
This oil is perhaps the lightest of them all, a single ingredient and sinks into the skin almost immediately.

Efficacy:
Marula oil’s ability to deeply hydrate and leave a moisturising effect to the skin is unlike many others that are this light. Due to its ease in absorbing into the skin, it works to reduce trans-epidermal water loss, leaving skin nice and plump. It’s a fantastic single-ingredient to help treat chapped skin, reduce the appearance of skin redness and scarring, and minimise fine lines.
